Terms of Service

By accessing and using Webtoon ("the Platform"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform. We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

To use our Platform, you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. Certain content on the Platform may be age-restricted. You agree to provide accurate age information and acknowledge that accessing age-restricted content falsely may result in account termination.

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account. You are responsible for safeguarding the password you use to access the Platform and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account. You may not use as a username the name of another person or entity that is not lawfully available for use, a name or trademark that is subject to any rights of another person or entity without appropriate authorization, or a name that is otherwise offensive, vulgar, or obscene.

Our Platform allows you to post, link, store, share, and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, or other material ("User Content"). You are responsible for the User Content that you post on or through the Platform, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness. By posting User Content on or through the Platform, you grant us the right to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such content on and through the Platform. You retain any and all of your rights to any User Content you submit, post, or display on or through the Platform, and you are responsible for protecting those rights. You represent and warrant that: (i) the User Content is yours or you have the right to use it and grant us the rights and license as provided in these Terms, and (ii) the posting of your User Content on or through the Platform does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights, or any other rights of any person.

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities: • Copying, distributing, or disclosing any part of the Platform in any medium • Using any automated system, including "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," to access the Platform • Transmitting spam, chain letters, or other unsolicited communications • Attempting to interfere with or compromise the system integrity or security • Collecting or harvesting any personally identifiable information from the Platform • Using the Platform for any commercial solicitation purposes without our consent • Impersonating another person or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity • Interfering with the proper working of the Platform • Bypassing measures we may use to prevent or restrict access to the Platform • Uploading or transmitting viruses or any other type of malicious code

The Platform and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Webtoon and its licensors. The Platform is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both Uganda and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent. All comics, artwork, stories, and related materials published on the Platform by creators are the intellectual property of their respective creators unless otherwise stated. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from such content without explicit permission from the copyright holders.

Some parts of the Platform are billed on a subscription basis ("Subscription(s)"). You will be billed in advance on a recurring and periodic basis ("Billing Cycle"). Billing cycles are set either on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the type of subscription plan you select. At the end of each Billing Cycle, your Subscription will automatically renew under the exact same conditions unless you cancel it or we cancel it. You may cancel your Subscription renewal either through your online account management page or by contacting our customer support team. A valid payment method, including Mobile Money or credit/debit card, is required to process the payment for your Subscription. You shall provide accurate and complete billing information. By submitting such payment information, you automatically authorize us to charge all Subscription fees incurred through your account. Refunds will be handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. We reserve the right to modify our pricing at any time. Any price changes will be communicated to you in advance and will apply to subsequent billing periods.

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Platform or contact us to request account deletion. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Your use of the Platform is at your sole risk. The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Platform is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance. Webtoon, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and licensors do not warrant that: (a) the Platform will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the Platform is free of viruses or other harmful components; or (d) the results of using the Platform will meet your requirements.

In no event shall Webtoon, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Platform; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Platform; (iii) any content obtained from the Platform; and (iv) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.
